I write a reflection at the end of every month, you can find them below!

We’re 10K Strong.

Dear friend and family members. Thank you for your support of this blog. I remember the first time I told my dear, dear friend Priscilla, that I wanted to start a blog, where I would primarily share my faith and love for God. She asked what was stopping me and I had no answer. I knew how to use wordpress, and blogging is basically free. I know how to write, and most importantly, the blog content wouldn’t exactly come from me, but from the Holy Spirit stuff.  Basically, I had nothing holding me back, except myself. Today, I looked at my statistics and I’ve had over 10,000 views. Is this me? Writing from my tiny dorm room that witnessed a lot of tears, fears, and victories. And today, I’ve had over 10,000 views. It’s alright if you don’t think this is a big deal. I personally live by Zechariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” This blog has become a source …

Soundtrack for the week and a Moment of Thanks

Hello friends, I hope you’re all doing great. I’m down with a horrible cold today so it’s a lot of tissues, hot tea and frustration for me. But by His stripes, I am healed. Today’s soundtrack features Travis Greene, and the first song we’re playing is Made a Way. God makes a way even in when there seems to be none. He literally builds a highway so you can cruise through despite the challenges. It’s a lovely lovely song that resonates with me, so please press play. Now that you have the song playing, I want to say thank you for your precious time and support. Some of you send me kind messages, encourage me when you see me and share the blog with your friends. I’m very grateful to God for each and every one of you. On that note, did you know that I have a Facebook page now? And a twitter account? And an instagram account? Also, I need a social media consultant (please volunteer yourselves :P) to make my online presence …

Tend the grass and the sheep will come.

Hello everyone, Happy Ash Wednesday! I really do love Lent, and as the years go by, I gain more appreciation for Loyola (my secondary school, or high school for Americans). I miss stations of the cross. I miss the songs. I miss carrying the candle stands and standing for the one hour plus (I was an altar server) during the stations of the cross services. I miss preparing for the easter trim (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday). I miss celebrating easter at my former home church. Sigh. Life happens and at this stage, everything is so transient. In any case, I really do love lent and I pray that when I grow up, I’ll have a sound spiritual church where I can serve as much as I’d love to. Anyhow, I’m very happy to say that I’ve grown a lot since last year’s December. And most of my growth has occurred during times of intense difficulty and pain. I definitely am going to write a post about rejoicing in difficulty because I’ve begun to see …

Disobedience is Expensive (Story Time)

Is God asking you to do something? Is He whispering in your ears? Is He tugging at your heart? It is in your best interest to listen. When we listen to God, we open the door to supernatural encounters. Let’s talk about Abraham for a moment. God asked Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, and when Abraham complied, God was so moved that He made a covenant with Abraham. Imagine making a covenant with the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Yup, till date, the seed of Abraham is blessed. If you’re a christian, you’re a child of Abraham, and you probably want to invoke his fatherly blessings over your life because God explicitly states that Abraham’s seed is blessed forever. Similarly, whenever God gives a command, He attaches a promise that is dependent on our commitment to doing His will. In 1 Kings 17, the Lord had already asked the widow of Zarephath to prepare a meal for him for the prophet Elijah, even before the prophet met her. If she had disobeyed the …

Home and Love, Love and Home.

April and May update Hello everyone, I didn’t post an update at the end of April- I think that has been the most stressful period of my entire year. Finals almost killed me, but more so, I had a very emotionally turbulent semester. But thanks be to God, he literally reached out into my very dark hole and pulled me out. Today, I want to write about one very special week in the month of May- and that pretty much was the highlight of my entire month. I worked in school for three weeks after finals. I got some money to buy work clothes for my internship, and to travel down here and settle in. I’m grateful to God for that- for the opportunity to work and basically fend for myself. God has done great things, so we bless His holy name! But today, I want to talk about two of the things I find most important and fascinating- home and love. I was privileged to spend the last week of May with some of …

Testimony- The rain does not stop falling just because the calabash is full!

My march update is finally here. It’s pathetic that I’m posting this so late into the new month, perhaps my April update should be called Struggle since I struggle so much with discipline and timeliness. I need God because I promise I’ve tried everything- I’ve got to the end of me, but clearly, there’s nothing I can do. (well, naturally) Anyway, today is a happy day because of the things that the Lord has done. If you remember, when I first started blogging I said it was because when I was asking God to gift me with a new laptop, I promised Him that I would use it to His glory. Well, last month, the Lord gave me the laptop of my dreams. He made the finances available not just for me to purchase a brand new laptop for myself, He also blessed me so much that together with a friend of mine, I was able to bless another friend with a brand new laptop of her own. In addition to the two laptops, God also blessed me with …

HEALING (January Recap)

First of all, thank you very much for the love and positive feedback on my last post about my sister. Please keep sharing your thoughts with me, as I really appreciate thoughtful, constructive feedback about relevant topics I should write about, and just general thoughts. Today, I want to share a few lessons I learnt in January. I intend to do this at the end of every month to ensure that we have enough material for thorough reflection come December 2015, and determine how to improve in 2016. We’re still creating that Dream Woman, remember! Healing- ‘To Make Whole’ I’d like to use an analogy. Imagine that you have a jug that is filled with water. But you want to fill your jug with orange juice. Try as you may, you cannot fill that jug with orange juice unless you empty the water. This, dear friends, is what the Lord has been teaching me for a few weeks now. Please pardon me if you find this post slightly vague, the point is not to share my …
