What is your motivation?

We only have really one job to do- love the Lord with all our hearts and with all our might. If we do it well, we’ll have access to everything we need in this life. Let’s not go about desiring the power that comes from God, but we should always seek God Himself, because when we find Him, we find His power and so, so, much more!

My thoughts on the Nigerian pastor who has been setenced to death (Part 2)

Hey there, thanks for checking my blog out. This is the second part of a two part series, so please read my last post here before you continue 🙂 Continued from here. I understand that sometimes, we may need help with reading the word of God and developing the habit of spending time with Jesus. We may speak to our spiritual leaders, read books, and listen to sermons. But it is absolutely paramount that we never rely on the “help” more than we do the Holy Spirit. Even when we’re reading a book about prayer, we must spend adequate time in prayer. We may say, how do I pray if I don’t know how to pray? We must practice what we’re reading in our so called spiritual help books. Ask God to teach you how to pray, don’t over spiritualize everything. You don’t have to start out speaking in tongues the first time you open your mouth to pray. Remember that the Holy Spirit is the greatest teacher so say a simple prayer “Lord, I don’t …

My thoughts on the Nigerian pastor who has been setenced to death

Happy Leap Day. It comes around only once in four years so it’s befitting that we celebrate in some way. Here’s my own celebration- read the blog post below haha! God bless you all for your support and you remain in my heart and in my prayers ❤ Here’s today’s blog post:   I’ve tried very hard to get my mind off the news report on Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, AKA Rev. King, the General Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, whose death sentence for murder and attempted murder from ten years ago has been upheld by the supreme court of Nigeria. I’ll like to two things that have been on my mind from this recent development. It is extremely important to know God for yourself because there are many false prophets amongst us. I wonder if Rev. King has, in the past ten years, repented for his actions or if he’s headed to hell. Because I like background music while I go back and read my blog, here’s a song to play. I promise, the …

Your Blessings are Reserved!

I read this in my devotional yesterday, and honestly, I cannot explain the peace that washed over me afterwards! Please read and be blessed! Memorise: The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage. Psalm 16:6   Read: Psalm 16:5-9 5  The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.  6  The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.   7  I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.    8  I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.  9  Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.    Message One thing that robs many people of peace is the uncertainty of the future. If you are living in right standing with God, your future is guaranteed not by man or by the economy of your …

The Privilege of Writing

Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well! I’m doing fine, and just when I’m feeling settled into my internship, I realize that time is nearly up. I spoke with one of my friends about this and she reminded me that this is the point of an internship; just enough time for you to get used to things, but not get too comfortable. In all, I am immensely grateful for this summer. I have learnt a lot, and I am very grateful that I haven’t been too mentally challenged. After all, it’s still summer time! I did not do any writing in the month of July- the entire month. Once, I started this post to share my thoughts on how challenging writing is, especially when one has a full time 9-5 job, and is trying to have a life as well. I have come to realize that sacrifices are part of life, and that prioritizing is immensely important. However, the story is not all sad and soppy. While I have not been able to …

Cords that cannot be broken

Yesterday, we spoke about Enoch, the man who did not die but was taken into heaven. I too, am wondering how to become like Enoch because honestly, not having to go through death but straight into eternal life with Jesus is probably the beyond amazing! To help us all, today, here is another blurb from pastor Adeboye about cultivating an eternal friendship with God. Do you want to be a friend of God? Then it is time to sit up. It is time to get serious with your salvation. You can’t be a friend of God when you are still tolerating some nonsense in your life, because God cannot behold iniquity. After 24 years of lack of seriousness, God warned Abraham to sit up. No more Lot. No more hanging around with Hagar. There is no one who partners with God and remains the same. They become role models. If you desire a meaningful relationship with God, you can no longer be fooling around with that strange woman. You can no longer be courting that wrong relationship. …

I Have an Infatuation!

The word of God is described using several metaphors. It is a double edged sword, it is fire and it is a hammer that can break a rock in pieces. The Bible admonishes us to keep the Word of God always on our lips, and to meditate upon it day and night. Since we cannot meditate on something we do not know, we are required to literally devour our Bibles– eat, chew, digest the word of God. Let it live and breathe in you and watch God do wonders in your life. Without further ado, here is some scripture that is currently rocking my world: Seest thou a man diligent in his work, he will stand before kings and not mean men. Proverbs 22:29 This proverb reminds us of the blessings of diligence. The Lord loves those who work hard to multiply the gifts and talents He has blessed them with. This is especially comforting to students as excellence in school work demands exceptional motivation. Hold fast friend! You will stand before kings, you will be the envy of nations, you will be …
