We’re 10K Strong.

Dear friend and family members. Thank you for your support of this blog. I remember the first time I told my dear, dear friend Priscilla, that I wanted to start a blog, where I would primarily share my faith and love for God. She asked what was stopping me and I had no answer. I knew how to use wordpress, and blogging is basically free. I know how to write, and most importantly, the blog content wouldn’t exactly come from me, but from the Holy Spirit stuff.  Basically, I had nothing holding me back, except myself. Today, I looked at my statistics and I’ve had over 10,000 views. Is this me? Writing from my tiny dorm room that witnessed a lot of tears, fears, and victories. And today, I’ve had over 10,000 views. It’s alright if you don’t think this is a big deal. I personally live by Zechariah 4:10 “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” This blog has become a source …

Having Difficult Conversations

Hello friends! I hope you’re all doing great. I missed my usual soundtrack for the week yesterday. I’m so sorry, I missed the post because I had a horrible headache so I went to bed right after church. I had a chorale (my college choir) concert earlier in the afternoon and I was going to write about my love for music and how one of our songs (in our secular choir) was inspired by the prophet Elijah. The song is called Life thine eyes, and it’s inspired by the story in 1 Kings 19, when Jezebel wanted to kill Elijah because He called down fire from heaven and killed hundreds of ball’s prophets. Elijah fled to the wilderness, and asked God to kill him (yeah yeah, he was suicidal, lonely and frustrated so can we stop with the silence over depression especially in the church?) It’s a really interesting story so please check it out in 1 Kings 19. I’ll condense the story by stating that God came through for Elijah, assured Him of His unwavering love, told him …

Fiction, finally.

Hello friends, How are you all doing? I’ve had a very good day today, thank God! I’ve been really productive, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work. I don’t take it for granted that I’m getting an education. 😀 I just read this incredible story in a devotional that my friend sends to me. The devotional is called The Daily Encourager. They have great devotions, and a lot of very good writers. I did not write this story, I got it in my inbox and decided to share. It’s a lovely, lovely story so please take your time to read and tell me what you think in the comments below. The Parable of the Three Trees Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods.  They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, “Someday I hope to be a treasure chest.  I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems.  I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty.” Then the second tree said, “Someday …

Soundtrack for the week and a Moment of Thanks

Hello friends, I hope you’re all doing great. I’m down with a horrible cold today so it’s a lot of tissues, hot tea and frustration for me. But by His stripes, I am healed. Today’s soundtrack features Travis Greene, and the first song we’re playing is Made a Way. God makes a way even in when there seems to be none. He literally builds a highway so you can cruise through despite the challenges. It’s a lovely lovely song that resonates with me, so please press play. Now that you have the song playing, I want to say thank you for your precious time and support. Some of you send me kind messages, encourage me when you see me and share the blog with your friends. I’m very grateful to God for each and every one of you. On that note, did you know that I have a Facebook page now? And a twitter account? And an instagram account? Also, I need a social media consultant (please volunteer yourselves :P) to make my online presence …
